Classical Books and Technology

I think that it is an awesome idea to provide classic books for free on e-readers. One thing that students are excited about these days is free information. Allowing students to have access to classics allows them to read books that made an impact on history. Many of the books that are available to download are books that teachers are using in their classrooms. I believe that students will be more eager to complete their work if they know they can read the book using technology. The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald is one of the books that is an option for students to download to an e-reader. This book is a classic and one of my favorites! Another reason teachers should promote this book in their classrooms for students to read is because it is soon going to be a movie!

My take on Banning Books

I read the article Banned Books Week: Slaying Censorship by Heather Wolpert-Gawson and she discusses the issues that come with banning books. When reading the article I realized that banning books should not be allowed. I believe that students should have the right to choose what books they want to read. I know that when a book becomes banned students become more interested in the material. When a student is told not to do something most of time students feel that they have to do it because they want to defy authority.  I think that it is a great idea to celebrate books that have been banned in previous years because it allows students to understand what was going on during society during that time. I believe that reading banned books allows students to develop a new relationship with reading (especially cause they believe they are breaking rules).

Sitting in Technology Class

Since I have been in my tech. class I have been exposed to many different forms of technology. There are so many different outlines that can be used to communicate with the world! I know that when I am offically a teacher I can incorporate technology into my lessons.
